The Hunger Games, by Suzanne Collins
This is an epic, violent, gory, gripping, amazing book. I literally could not stop reading it. I loved how all the characters played an important role and they were well described. I recommend this for grades sixth through eighth. If you were to get a book at the book store this would be the one. Visit the author's website at

Do you think kids can handle the violence in this book? Should parents be concerned?
ReplyDeleteI think kids can handle it. Parents should read it first. If they are okay you should tell your kid I'd compare it to a PG-13 action movie. If your kid also likes games such as Call of Duty or Halo, and doesn't mind gross/violent stories I recommend it.
